When it comes to hosting a game day gathering, whether we’re talking two people or 20, there are six particular recipes (and one honorable mention!) that I highly recommend.
These recipes are all easy to make and they’re all big-time crowd pleasers, so it’s a win-win all the way around! ….Oh yah, and they all happen to be on the healthier side, but don’t tell anyone! They will likely never suspect it.
My 6 Favorite Vegan Game Day Recipes:
1 – First and foremost, you gotta have my Lighter Guacamole! I just love the secret ingredient in this super tasty recipe.
2 – Since 98% of the people I know absolutely love all things buffalo-spiced, this Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower is a MUST. Just be sure to double or even triple your recipe, because it will disappear fast!
3 – Everyone loves crunchy flavorful snacks while watching a big game, and my homemade Lighter Kettle Corn is certainly tough to beat!
4 – Snacks and appetizers are a given for game day gatherings, but I also like to offer something that’s a little more “stick to your ribs,” like this 15-Minute Pumpkin Chili. I keep a big pot of it on the stove on simmer or in a crock pot to keep it nice and hot, that way our guests can help themselves to a bowl anytime during the game. Bonus: since canned pumpkin is so easy to find these days, you can make this chili any time of year!
5 – Of course, nothing goes better with chili than my Sweet Vegan Cornbread Muffins! I offer regular and gluten free versions in my recipe. I love them both!
6 – For a no-fuss dessert that can be made in advance, these Vegan and Gluten Free Monster Cookies are a great way to go. They’re especially fun because you can top them with colored chocolate candies that represent the teams playing in the game.
Honorable Mention – For many, a game day gathering is not complete without pizza! Therefore, I had to include this super easy 5-Ingredient Roasted Veggie Pizza, as well. It’s so delicious and colorful and fun.

Lighter Guacamole
Ingredients
- 1 c. frozen peas thawed
- 1 medium/large avocado
- 2 Tbsp. lime juice (30 ml) plus more to taste
- 2 Tbsp. water (30 ml)
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt plus more to taste
- 1/2 c. fresh pico de gallo It can usually be found in the produce section near the pre-chopped veggies and fruit.
Before You Begin! I recommend measuring out all ingredients called for in this recipe so they are ready to go the moment you need them.
Instructions
- Add the first seven ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until mostly smooth.
- Transfer this beautiful green mixture to a mixing bowl and gently fold in the fresh pico de gallo. Don’t like one or all of the ingredients in pico de gallo? No problem! It can be left out altogether and the guacamole will still be delicious.

Pro Tips From Audrey
- It’s better to eat this guacamole right away, but it can last in the fridge for about one day in an airtight container.
- Like your guac with a little more lime? Feel free to add a little extra.
- If you like a little spice, try chopping up some fresh jalapeños and folding them in after the guac is blended. Or, simply stir in a dash or two of cayenne spice.
- Double or triple this recipe if you’re hosting a party or get-together – it’s the perfect party snack and people will be blown away when they hear the fun twist on the recipe.
