These healthy Frozen Vegan Chocolate Snack Shakes are great for starting your mornings, fueling your workouts, or for giving you that afternoon pick-me-up! Bonus: They’re ready in just 5 minutes.

When it comes to snacks, I love a good chocolate shake. But you know what’s even better? A chocolate shake that’s made with ingredients you can feel good about! That’s why I created this recipe; I wanted a chocolate shake loaded with high quality foods that my family and I would love and enjoy on a regular basis.

Why this Recipe Works:

  • These shakes are sweet tooth satisfying yet super filling, all thanks to one high-fiber superfood ingredient – black beans!  But don’t worry, just so long as you use “no-salt-added” beans, you won’t even know they’re there.  The added bonus? They only take a few minutes to make!

Why is it called a “Snack Shake”?

  • As I mentioned before, I LOVE chocolate shakes. Therefore I wanted to create one that was healthy enough to enjoy every day, and not just for a treat!

How to Make Frozen Vegan Chocolate Snack Shakes:

  • To make these shakes, simply blend all of the ingredients listed below, pour into glasses, and then serve with colorful reusable straws! (That is, if you happen to have some colorful reusable straws lying around.)

I hope you love this snack shake as much as we do!

Top Tips for Making Frozen Vegan Chocolate Snack Shakes:

  • Be kind to your blender (and lower your frustration level!) by adding the ice to your blender at the appropriate time. You want to make sure that it ends up being the ingredient furthest away from the blades once you begin blending. Your blender will have a much easier time getting the job done this way!
  • If you feel like mixing it up, here are some other ingredients to consider adding to this shake:
    • A Tablespoon or two of Peanut Butter
    • A handful of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
    • A tsp. or so of Instant Coffee to transform them into MOCHAS! (Something Jeff and I have started doing A LOT more after becoming parents of twins!)
